How to solve the errors in Sage X3 while Reopening a Fiscal Year

  • This error appears when Reopening a fiscal year.
  • When you reopen a fiscal year, X3 will delete the new period (NP’s) journal entries so that when you close the fiscal year (re-close), the system will create new NPs to reflect any changes or additions you may have made
  • This error indicates that the ZANWL2101UGAND000003 Journal Entry couldn’t be canceled because it is in a Final status. This signifies that the quoted journal entry has to be changed to temporary status from status final.

To solve that, you need to; Edit the GACCENTRY table and change the STA field from 2 (Final) to 1 (Temporary) for the applicable journal entry.

To do that, Navigate to: Development>>Utilities>>Maintenance>>On Rows

  • On the field marked Table, search for GACCENTRY Accounting Entries, then click OK

  • On Clicking OK, Sage X3 will bring you to the below screen
  • On the top right corner, click on the three-action button then click on Selection as shown below.

On clicking selection, Sage X3 brings you to the below screen

On selection criterion, type NUM= ‘ZANWL2101UGAND000003’ then click OK.

The system will open the following window. Look for the field marked STA and change it from 2 to 1. That means the journal status will change from Final to temporary.

Now looking at the journal, the status has changed from final to temporary, and now you can go on and open a fiscal year successfully.
