Barcode Integration with Internal Usage Screen

Barcode Scanner is implemented as an Add-on in our SAGE 300 ERP which helps users to perform physical inventory counts more easily, quickly, and more accurately. Depending upon the configuration, an item’s name, price, and other details can be found by scanning its QR code. Additionally, once a QR code is scanned using a QR code scanner, the data is converted into information that can be read. This sounds like a lot less work than manually entering the data.

New Stuff: Configuring QR Code Format in Sage 300 ERP

In this blog, we will discuss the Barcode module in which we have customized the Internal usage screen where the generated QR code will be scanned to fetch the item no and location for the detail level of the transaction screen.

For scanning the QR code, we have provided a button termed Open Scan Window on the Internal usage transaction screen which will help to scan the generated QR codes and fetch the required details.

Below is the customized Internal Usage Screen:

Once the User generates the QR code string from the BI print screen, the QR code will be available for transactional purposes. The user needs to open the Open Scan Window to scan the QR code. Below is the screenshot for the Open Scan window screen where valid QR code is entered in the scan item field.

On entering the valid QR code in the scan item field, Item No and Location will be determined from the QR code string and the same will be inserted in the grid of Open scan window screen as shown below.

When the QR code details are reflected in the grid of open scan window screen, on the click of save button all the details will be inserted in the detail lines of Internal Usage transaction screen. Refer below screenshot.

Thus, the QR code module is of great help to the user to generate labels for Items hassle-free and more easily.
