To Simplify this process we have developed the utility which will help the user to create the order easily by importing a CSV/Excel file with the help of a template created.
In this utility it contains two primary screens: Template Mapping Screen and Import Screen.
Let’s Explore the functionality of both the screens below.
1.Template Mapping screen
The first while using this utility in Template Mapping Screen is creating the Template. Which defines how the data from CSV/Excel file should be mapped with Sage 300 Fields.
- Template Creation: Users have to create the template for CSV and Excel files.
- Field and Data Mappings: User should map the column from CSV/Excel file to the mapped fields of Sage 300. It will ensure that the utility correctly mapped the data from the CSV/Excel file which will help to import the order correctly. Additionally, users can include other Sage 300 fields based on their specific requirements or those present in the CSV/Excel file.
- Below is the CSV file you can refer the image:
- Assigning the Columns and Rows: User must specify the Column number from which data will be extracted. Also, users must define the Row number which indicates the starting point for data extraction.
By setting up the template correctly, users can use the template for that CSV/Excel file for the import process in the next step.
2.Import Screen
Once the template is created, the user moves on to the Import Screen, where the actual order data is imported which will create the order entry into Sage 300.

This Import screen contains:
- File Selection: Users have to select the CSV/Excel file that contains the order details which will be useful for importing the data to order entry in Sage 300.
- Template Selection: After File selection, users must select the templates which were created in the template mapping screen. User have to choose the correct template to apply the mapped configuration.
- Required Field Details: User have to give the required details for order import such as:
- Order Number
- Customer Number
- Ship To
- PO Number
- Location
These fields ensure that the imported order is properly associated with all relevant details in Sage 300.
Once all the required fields are completed, the user simply needs to click on the Import button. This action initiates the import process, seamlessly transferring the order data into Sage 300.
Upon successful import, the system processes the data and generates order entries in Sage 300 based on the mapped template.
After completing the entire import process of order entry you can check in the order entry screen that the order is created automatically in Sage 300.
