Sage CRM’s extensible flexibility has always proved beneficial for the implementers to work on it as well as for the users from accessibility point of view. Right from high level of customizations to minor level of changes, everything can be easily implanted in Sage CRM. One such flexible standard feature of Sage CRM is the various inbuilt Field Types.
The various field types available in CRM has helped to accommodate as well as restrict data entries based on certain type/condition. Such as the Email Address types of fields which helps to capture the email ids of the Customer, or the Selection type of field which helps to capture the preference and so on. Implementers has taken it far away by managing the fields hide/show based on a certain field value’s condition or populate a different selection type of field based on an option of other selection field and so on.
One such requirement our Customer had was to append the Percentage symbol with the numeric field value on the screen of CRM’s entity. There was one numeric field on Opportunity entity, of course numeric so that user can capture decimal values; where the Client needed to append percentage symbol.
This requirement was simply for view purpose and it had nothing to do with the value submitted at the backend level. To accommodate the same, we added the below script in Custom Content since we wanted to change the display for only view mode –
After adding the above script in Custom Content, value added in Percent field (oppo_percent in our example) is displayed along with the % symbol as shown below –
In this way you can append Percentage symbol with the field value in Sage CRM.
