In Sage CRM, Dashboard is one of the most used features by users to track their Business growth and reports. Also, Sage CRM allow users to create custom dashboards and Gadgets, according to data feeds which they want to have look at from different entities. It can be in list, chart or report format. Recently we have one inquiry from one of our client related to Gadget i.e. Dashboard is working but particular Gadget is not working.

In this blog, we will explain how to troubleshoot the Gadget-related issue.
For Example, Let’s consider a videos Gadget from the welcome dashboard.
When user logged into the CRM, the gadget shows an error as ‘An error occurred when attempting to process the Gadget. Please contact your System Administrator.’
On investigation, we found that accidentally this gadget got deleted from the database. To confirm the same we have searched this Gadget in CRM database. By executing the below query.
select * from LPGadget where LPGad_CreatedBy = ‘-1’ and LPGad_Name like ‘%Videos%’
We found that for this gadget in the database ‘LPGad_Deleted’ is set to 1.
To resolve the same we have updated that ‘LPGad_Deleted’ = Null in the database.
Then navigates to CRM and refresh the metadata. To run the metadata refresh navigates to below path, Administration -> System -> Metadata After refreshing metadata Gadget is working as expected.
