In Sage CRM, fields can be added to any of the primary entities. We can add fields on an entity as per the business requirement. Recently as per the client’s requirement, we have added fields on the quote grid. Fields on the quote item grid give a short description of the product. If you click on the hyperlink on the product name you will get detailed information about the product.
New Stuff: Mark Task ‘Complete’ from Calendar Tab
In native Sage CRM, there are some of the fields on the quote item grid as shown below in the screenshot.
Recently as per the client’s requirement, we have added a field on the quote item grid but it was invisible on Quote Item screen. We will discuss a solution for this.
JFYI, we have added a field on the Quote Item Grid by following below instructions.
- Log on to the Sage CRM with Admin user.
- Navigate to the below path.
Administration | Customization| Secondary Entities | Quote Items |Lists tab | Quote Items Grid - Select “Quote items: Product Family (quit_productfamilyid)” and Click on ‘Add’.
- The field will be added at the end of the grid, to shift the field to the upper side click on the upper arrow. Click on ‘Save’. Refer the below screenshot.
As you can see in the below quote item grid still not showing newly added filed i.e. Product Family
After some research, we understood that field gets displayed on Quote or Order Item grid when Metadata is refreshed in Sage CRM. Follow below steps to refresh the metadata.
- Log on to the CRM with Admin user.
- Navigate to the below path.
Administration | System| Metadata - Check ‘Refresh All’ checkbox and click on ‘Execute Refresh’ button
After giving metadata, you can see that the added field (Product Family) will be shown on the quote item grid.
It looks like whenever any columns are added or removed from Quote or Order Item Grid, Sage CRM user needs to “Metadata Refresh”.
Note: If field is still invisible after refreshing metadata, then you need to run iisreset command on the Sage CRM server. You need to make sure that all users are out of Sage CRM before running IISREST command.
