Sage CRM 2022 R1 UX improvements – Update territory in Opportunity, Case, Lead Groups

Sage CRM is very flexible to manage or incorporate different type of scenarios as per the business needs. It has an inbuilt powerful Security mechanism known as “Territories”. By setting territories in Sage CRM, we can restrict one user from accessing records of another user belonging to different territory. Territory field is available on Main entities. A territory can be defined geographically, by product area or by any other criteria.

With the latest release of Sage CRM 2022 R1, Sage has brought numerous changes that has mainly focussed on improvements in the Deployment, Administration and UX improvements.  As we know, the latest version of Sage CRM has come up with many new features as well as enhancements that help to manage the Customer Relationship and make the business process smooth and trouble-free as well as user-friendly to use.

Every upgrade of Sage CRM focuses on the improvement of the consistency of behaviour of features within the interface. If a feature is available and proved helpful for one entity, then to roll out it for other entities if it makes sense; has always been one of the priorities during upgrades.

In Sage CRM 2022 R1, a change has been taken into consideration regarding the territory updating. Basically, this version of Sage CRM brings the behaviour available to groups based on Leads, Opportunities and Cases in line with groups based on Companies and Persons.

Users can now carry out a mass update of the territory of Lead, Case, or Opportunity records. This extends the benefit already in place on Persons and Companies –

  • To swiftly and easily allow a System Administrator to reassign groups of Leads, Cases and Opportunities to new security territories without the need to run SQL statements.
  • To allow data to be updated and realigned as business needs change.

Once you make the configurations in the System Behaviour settings, User will be able to carry out mass operations (these include mass update and update territory). A button will appear as highlighted below –

On clicking the Update Territory, below screen will be displayed wherein the user can select the territory value they want to set for the selected records and then click on Save.

In this way, User can perform Mass update of territory values for most of the primary entity records in Sage CRM 2022 R1 without much of manual efforts or SQL queries and conditions.
