Narrative Summary for Company in Sage CRM 2023 R1

In Sage CRM, Company is the main fundamental unit. After creating company, we can associate Sales and Service process to it. In Sage CRM, we can maintain company’s basic details like name, annual turnover, employee strength, company’s website etc. Also, we can link one primary contact person against company, who will be the SPOC for the said company to coordinate with the clients. Address, Email and Phone no. data is also stored against that company. We can create Communications, Opportunities and Cases against Company and afterwards they will be available in Communications, Opportunities and Cases tab against company respectively.

As explained above, to view the data available against company like Cases, Opportunity, Addresses, Communications etc. we have to move to the each and every tab against company which is time consuming task. But, with the release of Sage CRM 2023 R1, this task is made simpler for all of us.

In Sage CRM 2023 R1, a new tab “Narrative” is added against Company entity. User will get all the information linked to that company in this tab. Please refer below screenshot of Narrative tab for your reference.

Company Narrative Summary

Company: Here user can read the information about particular company like whether it is Active in CRM, its territory, Account Manager for the company.

Address: Here user can view the city where company is situated. What is the exact business of company and who will be the SPOC for future communication and his designation.

Communication: Here user can view the completed communication against company.

Sales: Here user can view the in progress sales i.e. in progress Opportunities against company.

Cases: Here user can view the Cases tagged against the company. It also narrates the SLA defined against the said company, how many cases have been logged till date and how many cases are in progress stage. Also, it depicts the each case with its reference number and it is assigned to which user.

Relationships: Here user can view the current company’s relationship with other companies.

System Administrator can control the information which needs to be shown to the user in Narrative tab. To hide/show the information on Narrative tab, system admin can edit the security profile rights to grant and revoke the view rights for the corresponding entities.

If user don’t have rights to a particular entity then he will not be able to view the data against the sections described in the Narrative tab. For e.g. if logged in user does not have the Opportunity rights then he will not see any opportunity data against that company in Narrative tab. It will say We do not have any sales in progress or you do not have permission to view opportunities.

Sometimes user does not understand the data alone, but by viewing narrative reports user can get better understanding of information for any record. Narrative Reports are more impressive and attractive so that user don’t need to check and view records manually. Narrative tab is configurable and secured so that unauthorized user cannot access the sensitive information and it is also useful for specific audience.

In this way, we can display a narrative report containing summary and business understandings for company.
