In current Sage 500 functionality, user can set up and maintain specific customer pricing strategies for specific customers buying using Maintain contract screen.
You can maintain an unlimited number of price breaks based on quantity, monetary amount, weight, or volume, for each product price group or item or you can establish a fixed amount for the price discount.
User can setup contract pricing using both the below option:
- A particular inventory item
- The inventory items assigned to a product price group
- Navigation :
Go to Inventory Management Maintenance menu > Maintain Prices > Contract Pricing
The price determined at each break level is derived from either:
- A particular item price column in Maintain Price Sheets, replacement cost, average cost, or standard cost. An optional discount or markup percentage can be applied to the applicable price column or cost.
- A fixed monetary amount
You can define the structure of the contract price record for both the product price group and the item. Each record contains:
- An effective and expiration date
- The discount price method
- A price base
- A price break associated with the break type
You can enter price breaks for a break type by clicking Breaks in the grid. You can combine break types on a single order to allow the customer to qualify for a price break.
