We had one of our client requesting to develop a set of reports for them. We created the reports and deployed them on the client’s server but the report failed to generate any data on the client’s data.
As we have tested the report on our DEMO system it became difficult to find the exact reason of the failure of report.
We were looking for an option which will help us in verifying the query getting executed at the client’s place which is generating NO RECORDS at their end. Finally we were able to get one way out :
Simply modify the “Sage X3 Client V1” Shortcut and add -d to the Target i.e. Right Click on the shortcut and select “Properties” from the context menu, Change the Target to “C:\Program Files\Sage\Safe X3 Client V1\X3.exe” –d
Now when you start X3, there will be a pop up stating the path of the Log files generated.
You can check the log file once you print a report and check the execution query to find the reason.
