Password policies in Sage X3 refer to the set of rules and guidelines implemented to ensure the security and strength of user passwords within the system. For accessing the Password policy functionality in sage X3, you need to navigate to below path:
Administration > Administration > Settings > Password Policies function
After navigation to the screen you can set below password policies:
- Lengths ranges
This ensures that passwords are not too short and increases the difficulty for potential attackers to crack them. It allows to set a minimum length of at least 6 characters and maximum length 128.
- Complexity
One of the key components of password policies is defining the minimum requirements for password complexity. This typically includes guidelines such as using a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. By enforcing complexity, the system ensures that passwords are not easily guessable.
As shown in figure 2. In Sage X3, At least 3 complexity rules have to be checked from below:
- Requires at least one uppercase letter
- Requires at least one lower case
- Requires at least one number
- Requires at least one non-alphanumeric character
- Black listed passwords
You can import a text file containing a list of weak passwords. You can save the history of passwords more than 3 passwords.
- Expiration
Defines how many days are left before the password expires. Additionally, a user’s expiration period may be disabled. We can set days to alert before expiration of password.
