As we know, Sage X3 provides the functionality of creating\updating the transactions using an Import/Export template. The export function in X3 is used to extract data from the database to ASCII type file (with fixed length or variable with separators), whose structure is described by an import/export template. Export functionality is basically used to fetch the data and convert it into the required format as the format vary from application to application.
We have come across a scenario where we need to export only those products who has status as “Obsolete”. If below highlighted field on Product master screen has values as “Obsolete” then only those records should get exported.
Follow below steps to achieve the same.
- Navigate to: Setup > Usage > Imports/Exports > Import/Export templates
- Select template to which conditions/filters to be set.
- Click on ‘Export’ button as highlighted below.
Enter the condition to export required data. Refer below screenshot.
- Save the changes.
Now, whenever you will export the data using template ZITM, it will export records having product status as ‘Obsolete’. Follow below steps for better understanding.
- Navigate to: Usage > Imports/Exports > Exports
- Select template name ‘ZITM’ and click on ‘OK’.
We had setup the values products BMS002, BMS088 and DIS001 as “Obsolete” and in below screenshot, you can see those products have been exported.
