In Sage ERP X3, the software offers flexibility in representing dates, allowing users to customize the date format to align with specific requirements. To determine the current date format being used in the application, you can use the Adonix calculator by pressing Ctrl+Alt+K on any X3 screen and entering ‘GFMD’ click on Ok from that you can see the date format of the X3 folder .
It is common for clients to have specific preferences for date formats, such as DD/MM/YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY, YYYY/DD/MM, or other variations, which apply to reports, transactions, inquiry screen filters, and various other interfaces. To complete this need, Sage X3 provides a convenient way to configure the date format according to the client’s requirements. Here’s how you can set up the date format in Sage X3:
If you wish to modify the date format, follow these steps:
Option 1 :
Date Format Setup in Sage X3:
- Navigation :
To configure the date format, start by navigating to the ‘Administration’ section in Sage X3. Under ‘Administration,’ select ‘Settings,’ and then choose ‘Locales.’
2. Locales Screen :
Upon entering the ‘Locales’ screen, you’ll find a list of various language options to choose from. It’s important to note that the date format configuration is based on the selected language.

3. Select Language :
Click on the ‘Edit’ option next to the language for which you want to configure the date format. This action will open a window with multiple settings, including date format, long date format, time format, and more. For this configuration, we’ll focus on the date format.

4. Date Format Configuration :
In the language-specific configuration window, you’ll find a field labelled ‘Date Format.’ Here, you can input your preferred date format, such as ‘M/d/yyyy’ or ‘d/M/yyyy,’ as per your specific requirements . It’s important to note that ‘M’ should always be in uppercase, also you can set up it to any Single or multiple language from the above screen at same time.
5. Save Configuration :
After setting the desired date format, click on the ‘Save’ button to save your configuration.
6. Verification :
To ensure that the date format has been successfully applied, you can check any inquiry screen or account balances screen within Sage X3. The date format you’ve configured will now be visible, making it easier for you to work with the software in a format that suits your needs.
