In Sage X3, transactions and their records play significant role. There can be various records in an entry transaction. During opening of any entry transactions, sometimes screen loading takes several seconds to open which causes system delay. This may be caused by unnecessary records loaded from the left list during screen opening. This can be improved by reducing number of records in the left list of any transactions.
In this blog, we would like to show you a way to improve screen load times for the screen who have left list or mostly object based screens. This will help in reducing the time taken by screen during loading using less number of records into the left list area of a particular screen.
Consider an example of sales order, here is what left list of a sales order transaction looks like (not all records) as shown below.
To restrict for a single X3 user,
- Navigate to All-> Setup -> Users
- Select the user for which you want to restrict.
- Click on the Parameters definition tab.
- Locate the “SEL” group line.
- Click on the Action (3 vertical dots) menu and select details as shown below.
6. Locate the “LFTBOX” parameter and decrease the value, in this example we will change it to 10.
7. Click on OK button.
8. Then, back to the parameters tab screen, click on “Save”.
9. Note : This change affects ALL screens that have a left list for the same login selected.
Now, after saving if we navigate to sales order screen, the left list looks like as shown below.
By using above steps we can restrict number of records in left list for a particular user.
To make changes for all logins in a particular folder.
- Navigate to All-> Setup -> General Parameters -> Parameter values.
- Go to Supervisor, select the folder.
- Locate the SEL “Lists and selections” record.
- Click on the Action (3 vertical dots) menu and select details as shown below.
5. Locate the “LFTBOX” parameter and decrease the value, in this example we will change it to 10.
By using above steps we can restrict number of records in left list for users in particular folder.
This blog helps us in restricting number of records in left list which result in improving screen load times for transactions in Sage X3.
